Deadlines are approaching for some cool scholarships for writers and illustrators.
The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) offers annual Work-In-Progress (WIP) Awards to help writers and illustrators in the publication of a specific work that’s currently not under contract. The deadline for the 2018 submission is March 31, 2018. You must be a current SCBWI member to apply. Details at Work-in-Progress Grants.
SCBWI also offers an award (in conjunction with the Work-in-Progress award) for unpublished writers and illustrators over 50 years old. The deadline is March 31, 2018. Details at Karen and Philip Cushman Late Bloomer Award
The Children’s Book Academy is accepting applications for their 2018 SPRING CBWPB Yuyi Morales Merit Scholarships for an online writing course. The deadline for submissions is March 12, 2018. Details at Craft and Business of Writing Children’s Picture Books.
